Muslims record decade’s worst in UPSC exams, Muslim institute gets recognition
Muslim candidates recorded the decade’s “worst” performance in the country’s ‘civil service’ exams this year. India’s Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) declared Civil Services 2021 exam results this week, and announced a total of 685 candidates qualified for various top administrative, diplomatic and police jobs. Of these 685 successful candidates, only 21 are Muslims, and none figured in the list of top 100. The best performer among Muslims is Areeba Nomaan, who has secured 109th rank. However, a Muslim institute, Jamia Millia Islamia’s Residential Coaching Academy (RCA), gained attention for producing 23 successful candidates, including the topper.
