Member of ruling BJP in Madhya Pradesh fatally beats Jain man suspecting that he was Muslim 

BHOPAL, MAY 19, 2022: A 65-year-old man from the minority Jain community in Madhya Pradesh succumbed to injuries after having been allegedly assaulted by a member of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) who had assumed he was Muslim. The Hindu right-wing BJP, party of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, controls both the state and union governments. Dinesh Kushwaha, the accused, is a BJP worker from Neemuch. According to police, Bhawarlal Jain, the victim, is also from Madhya Pradesh and was suffering from some mental illness.

Jain succumbed to assault and his body found on May 19. Police booked Kushwaha under section 302/304 of IPC in Manasa PS. ++
