Four-Year Undergraduate Courses Will Begin in Colleges Next Year: CM Himanta

Guwahati: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that four-year undergraduate programmes in state colleges will begin next year. “Beginning next year, four-year undergraduate courses will be offered in state colleges. The government has taken several initiatives to increase knowledge through the educational system.
The state government would give full cooperation in a variety of areas, including infrastructure upgrades and teacher recruitment to assist the introduction of post-graduate programmes at Sonari College, allowing the college to become a full-fledged post-graduate college “CM Sarma said.
He also stated, “State universities should play a critical role in the implementation of new education policies (NEP). Every university in the state is ready to implement the new education policy beginning next year.”
According to CM Sarma, the NEP 2020 intends to build a blend of knowledge and wisdom. Significantly, the Assam Chief Minister made the statement on Sunday while addressing the concluding ceremony of Sonari College’s Golden Jubilee in Charaideo district.
